Lanyards are popping up a lot more these days because they are proving to be very useful. With several types to choose from it shouldn’t be hard to find one for you. Since these are cheap and easy to work with it makes looking for something else just silly. There are at least five different types of lanyards you can use, from round and flat to beaded and patriotic. If you are really crafty you can create your own keychain/ID card holder with just two or four different flat lanyard strings.
Round Lanyards: Made from woven nylon, lanyards come lengths about 38′ around the neck, these will prove to keep your security badge from getting lost. These are durable and machine washable so if anything gets spilled on them you can clean them right off. You can find these in a variety of colors so it is possible to color coordinate.
Flat Lanyards: These are custom dyed, which means you pick the color you want before it is made. These can come complete with your company name written write on the lanyard since it is flat.
Breakaway Lanyards: Breakaways come in both round and flat and are broken away from the rest of the chain since they are held together by a small clasp. This makes securing the ID badge/card in place a little easier. It’s not something that you’ll have to hunt around your neck for. Both come with a swivel hook that makes it easy to attach something to it. The round is made of braided nylon and is about 1/8′ wide and both are light in weight.
Patriotic Lanyards: These are perfect for the holidays coming up from Memorial Day to Independence, show your military appreciation or how patriotic you are when you sport the patriotic lanyards. If you order in time you can get some heavy duty thick lanyards that look like the flag, with stars and stripes or those that read Support our Troops and have camo prints on them. If you are coordinating any events these would be great to show off who you are and still be patriotic.
Lanyards are used to hold sunglasses when your driving down the road or your house keys so you don’t lose them. Simply place them on the hook at the end of the chain and you’ve got yourself a longer keychain, which should make finding your lost keys that much easier. to find. These come in a variety of colors and styles, which makes it easier for you to pick. As for the clean up, these are fairly easy since most you just need to wipe down, the round lanyard you may need to toss in the washer or hand wash it and dry later.
Another example of why you might need a lanyard, to hold their security pass, press pass or even a back stage pass.
