In 2009, the UK national ID card scheme is in full swing. Leave home without one and you’re a suspect. Benjamin Novak chooses to opt-out of the scheme on ethical grounds. When police are called in to investigate the vandalism of his business, he finds the investigation taking a disturbing turn – he himself is detained whilst the authorities ‘verify his identity’. Ben quickly finds himself in a test of courage against a hot-shot detective, and facing a family he doesn’t recognise anymore …

I.d cards are coming its inevitable… crank up the fear, tighten the grip, like a fucking boa constrictor. Then the chip and its bye bye freedom, what’s left of it. Our wonderful Queen mentioned them in the 06 commons speech.

The best thing will be for every person to opt out of the ID card scheme and therefore there will be no requirement to give Fingerprints and tell Government about change of address and other information. One of the freedoms we have now is being able not to tell the Government where we live. Criminals must inform the Police of their address and this ID card only makes everyone including criminals on the same level. Guilty until proven innocent.

Benjamin Franklin said
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
If the population of the UK agree to ID cards and loss of liberty then we will never deserve liberty or safety. We might as well tell the terrorists they have won. Its funny how we will be able to opt out of the scheme but as soon as you opt in you must allways report your address and change off. To forget will cost £2000 fine.

ricforster, very good job on this video. This reminds of the best of Mi5 and 24. I hope your career takes off in this direction, because I can’t wait to watch full series of this type of work.

Well this video scares me, it must be the worst case . Disturbing to see how the Inspector enjoys his job.
This nightmare is possible and groups like NO2ID want to prevent the problem now.

What a crock of shit. Just because I have nothing to hide, does not mean I should have an ID card. That is my choice, my freedom. Don’t most of us have a national insurance card/number anyway? (UK)

so they’re just going through all this trouble to implement id cards…for what?…to entertain themselves?
I hope they get you first.
As for me I’m resisting it to the end..I don’t give a shit.

i loved that video
the fact that it was short film kinda left the conversations to be a bit rushed and they seemed a little in complete like you wanted to here more
but other then that it was great
the concept was great and the way it was filmed was pretty cool
April 29th, 2009 at 4:28 am

April 29th, 2009 at 4:28 am
I don’t want to be barcoded and ID cards are stupid, is no-one allowed any privacy any more? Gordon Brown is an idiot.
