As runners gather Sunday to honor the memory of “Jogging Joe” Shafran, the popular running icon and columnist for The Capital who died of heart failure Sept. 11, they’ll have an opportunity to carry on his last big project: making running identification tags, and getting people to use them when they are out without their wallets.
